Botond Banfi, MD, PhD

Dr. Banfi has a long-standing interest in the field of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-producing enzymes. Research in his laboratory focuses on the characterization of these enzymes (called NADPH oxidases or NOX, and Dual NADPH Oxidases or DUOX), and the analysis of their importance in both cystic fibrosis (CF) lung disease and congenital inner ear defects that lead to deafness and balance disorders.
